It’s a pressing issue affecting millions globally, even in developed countries, where people are subjected to various forms of slavery. Every company faces the risk of involvement in this crime, whether through its operations or supply chain. This statement, published by ASC27 S.r.l, aligns with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and represents the company’s first Modern Slavery Statement. It aims to convey the steps taken and committed to in the medium term to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within its business and supply chains.
ASC27 S.r.l. is an Italian startup specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security software. We boast one of the most extensive AI product portfolios on the market, providing solutions for Security, Industry 4.0, Broadcasting, Copyright Protection, News Industry, Workplace Safety, Behavioral Analytics, Augmented E-Learning, HR enhancement, and Cyber Security.
Our operational offices span Rome, Milan, Bologna, Chieti, and we are expanding internationally into Mexico and Brazil. Digital transformation through Artificial Intelligence involves leveraging technology for increased efficiency while instigating cultural and operational shifts to foster innovation and develop new products and services.
We foster relationships of trust and integrity with our suppliers, underpinned by mutual benefit. Supplier selection and onboarding encompass diligence regarding reputation, legal compliance, health, safety, environmental standards, and references.
To date, we haven’t received any allegations of human trafficking or slavery within our supplier network. However, if such concerns were raised, immediate action would be taken, and authorities informed.
In the past year, we conducted a supply chain risk assessment, considering:
1. The risk profile of individual countries based on the Global Slavery Index.
2. Services provided by suppliers.
3. The presence of vulnerable demographic groups.
Policies
ASC27 S.r.l. operates the following policies for identifying and preventing slavery and human trafficking in our operations:
Whistleblowing Policy: We actively encourage employees, customers, and suppliers to report suspicions of slavery or human trafficking without fear of retaliation. A confidential helpline ensures the protection of whistleblowers’ identities.
Code of Conduct: Our code sets clear expectations for employees, guiding their actions and behavior when representing the business. We maintain the highest standards of conduct and ethics, both domestically and in our supply chain management.
To raise awareness of modern slavery issues, ASC27 S.r.l. has distributed informational materials and sent emails specifically addressing modern slavery to our staff. These communications cover:
1. Indicators of potential slavery or human trafficking cases.
2. Procedures for employees to report suspicions.
In addition to the awareness program, ASC27 S.r.l. provides training to staff to ensure a comprehensive understanding of modern slavery risks. Open communication is maintained with our staff and supply chain partners to address any concerns, risks, or issues.
